Swearing is embedded in our culture, but defining what a curse is has proven difficult, as it is just a subset of words, with one definition not really encompassing all that can be considered a curse word, Merriam- Webster defines it as "Use of profane or obscene language" (Swear), but that is hardly useful if we don't know what obscene is.

Profanity is prevalent in this novel through its use of a multitude of swear words.
