Al-Fajr (Arabic: الفجر, "The Dawn", "Daybreak") is the eighty-ninth chapter (sura) of the Quran, with 30 verses (ayat). [3] . The sura describes destruction of disbelieving peoples: the Ancient Egyptians, the people of Iram of the Pillars, and Mada'in Saleh. It condemns those who love wealth and look with disdain upon the poor and orphans.

So your Lord poured upon them a scourge of punishment. (is) surely Ever Watchful. Indeed, your Lord is in observation. has honored me." And as for man, when his Lord tries him and (thus) is generous to him and favors him, he says, "My Lord has honored me." (has) humiliated me."

"Allah forgives the mistakes of whoever recites, Surah Fajr, on the 'Ten Nights', (i.e., the first ten nights of Zul-Hajj), and it will become a light on Dooms Day for the one who recites it at other times ((of the year)”. 1

89:23 وَجِيءَ يَوْمَئِذٍ بِجَهَنَّمَ ۚ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَتَذَكَّرُ الْإِنْسَانُ وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُ الذِّكْرَىٰ And brought [within view], that Day, is Hell - that Day, man will remember, but what good to him will be the remembrance?
