Aug 9, 2018 · Should I spend $50k-55k for a MK4 supra or wait for the MK5? Its hard to justify since I think the MK4 bubble has popped in a sense that the prices have slowed down from jumping up, but then again new car depreciation would hit harder.

So I am biased on this response as I have an MK4 Supra. And in many ways you are correct, there isn't some magic aspect of race car that makes the MK4 "the best". The engine is over built and the cars build quality is superb.

One question ive always had about the mk4 supra... why is it rarely used for drifting? i think ive only ever seen one video of a drift supra but thats it.

The MK5 is a better sports car, the MK4 is a better Supra. I personally would prefer the better sports car. I could care less about the character of the car unless it’s something very unique. The A designation is the model code. The first generation Super Celica was the A40/A50 model. For the Mark 2, 3, 4, and 5, just add 10 to each. Mk4 is the A80 and the Mk5 is the A90.
