Nov 20, 2020 · It's long irked me that monks, while proficient with the sun blade because of their proficiency with shortswords, could not use a sun blade as a monk weapon because it is a magic longsword. But thanks to the Dedicated Weapon feature, now all monks who can get their hands on one of these weapons can make it a monk weapon anyway.

Sep 9, 2017 · Lots of things are resistant to fire because it's the most common damage type. the Sun Blade doesn't do any slashing, it's all radiant, with additional radiant against undead (which Clerics are usually against). the light that a Sun Blade emits may not be as far reaching as the brightness from the Flame Tongue, but it counts as sunlight.
