Oct 18, 2017 · This is on a 2005 Outback Limited w/ 2.5 and 4EAT. As soon as the vehicle is put into gear (forward or reverse), the trip odo changes to ER IU. I've tried resetting the battery, turning the key on 30 seconds and then starting it, and nothing changes. Key off and back on again will clear it until it's put back in gear.

Mar 17, 2007 · ER 55 is actually SS for Speed Sensor. You will need a scan tool that can monitor all 4 wheel speed sensors. In the straight ahead position and driving at city to highway speeds. All 4 wheel speed sensors should have near identical speeds. If not, look for a speed sensor or reluctor ring that is defective.

Customer: I'm getting this message on my odometer "er IU" of my 2005 Subaru Outback. Car is out of warranty so I can't afford to take to garage unless it is absolutely essential.

0420 means the bank one catalytic converter is no longer able to clean the emissions efficient. The converter sill need to be replaced, it is no longer doing its job. 0500 means there is a vehicle speed signal issue at the ABS and you need to see if the ABS module has codes stored.

Jan 12, 2017 · The two Er codes and the "U" codes are related to a problematic CAN network. Perhaps a connector was dislodged at the time of the collision or some wiring was damaged especially if the problem began soon after the collision, and before the car went in for repairs.
