Strožanac is a little and peacefull place situated on the seaside, only 3 km from Split. There is a bus line directly to the centre of Split and port. Riviera Podstrana begins with Strožanac, and stretches across Hotel "La Meridien Lav", throughout coasts, small settlements and nicely arranged beaches, up to Omiš.

Strožanac je priobalno naselje na Jadranskom moru. Nalazi se istočno od Splita i Stobreča. Može se reći da Strožanac započinje kod ušća reke Žrnovnice. Iznad Strožanca se nalazi brdo Perun. Obala je peskovita. Važne privredne delatnosti su turizam i poljoprivreda.

Do teritorijalnog preustroja Hrvatske naselje je bilo u sastavu Općine Split. Podstrana – Strožanac Donji kao samostalno naselje navodi se od popisa stanovništva 2021. godine. Nastalo je podjelom naselja Podstrana.
