Stollberg is a town in Saxony, Germany, in the district Erzgebirgskreis. It is situated 20 km east of Zwickau and 17 km southwest of Chemnitz. It was the site of the Hoheneck women's prison until 2001.

Stollberg liegt am Nordrand des Erzgebirges, etwa 20 km südwestlich von Chemnitz und ca. 15 km nordöstlich von Aue im Tal des Gablenzbaches. Nordwestlich von Stollberg liegt das Erzgebirgische Becken mit dem ehemaligen Lugau-Oelsnitzer Steinkohlenrevier.

At 43.4 metres above sea level, the Stollberg is the fourth highest hill in the district of North Frisia in northern Germany, after the Sandesberg near Ostenfeld (53.3 m), the Uwe Düne in the municipality of Kampen auf Sylt (50.2 m) and the Rantzauhöhe within the Langenberg south of the village of Leck (44.8 m).
