The roof has a 3/4 inch air gap from strapping over the tar paper and osb. The siding is attached directly to the tar paper and OSB. We’ve had some condensation issues, I think, especially on the north wall around outlets.

Design depends on type of metal roof: exposed or hidden fasteners; board and batten (pan and ridge) panels; shake and shingle panels; panel or tile system; standing seam; etc.

Dec 19, 2020 · I am constructing a post frame conditioned shop building with blow in cellulose on the OSB ceiling. Above this I will have the metal roof on 2×4 purlins. This area is pretty humid. In my small metal storage sheds I had to remove the roof and put a layer of bubble foil insulation to keep condensation from falling onto my tools.
