Mar 26, 2019 · From what I've read, square setups offer more balanced handling characteristics. Staggered gives you more grip in the rear, less up front and CAN attribute to more understeer. If you go square, the car will have more relative grip up front and be more "oversteery" (read, easier to kick the tail out).

A staggered setup will introduce more understeer. Meaning the front tires will lose traction more than the rears, so a narrower tire up front can increase this.
