" Unification " is a two-part episode of the syndicated American science fiction television series Star Trek: The Next Generation which features Leonard Nimoy as Spock.

Spock – full name generally considered unpronounceable by Humans – was a male Human/ Vulcan hybrid who lived during the 23rd and 24th centuries, who became one of the most distinguished and respected figures in the United Federation of Planets.

To the Federation's surprise, Ambassador Spock has traveled to Romulus. Fearing he has defected, they send Captain Picard and Data on a covert mission to determine why. The now legendary Spock from the first series after a quarrel with Sarek has disappeared. Mark Lenard and Leonard Nimoy disagreed over the efficacy of contacting a Romulan Senator known to be a reformer.

On Romulus, Picard and Data meet with Spock, who claims to be trying to reunite the Romulans and Vulcans. While Spock works to achieve his goal, powers within the Romulan government seek to pervert his mission into an invasion of the Federation.
