Maybe people assumed the equalizer offered a simple smiley face EQ boost and assumed that the speaker without the equalizer was the truest response.

While there is no serial number on the equalizer, it was part of a set that had one Bose Model 901 speaker with a serial number BELOW #800. The matching speaker has a serial # over 1100 which had the more traditionally seen Bose label.

Jan 11, 2022 · Yes my Yamaha does that, its older though so no equalizer, other than Center for dialogue. So a modern Denon would have better capabilities. Say a particular speaker had a bump in the midrange, you could tame it by using the built in equalizer, especially If it was already tested and found a certain setting would tame it a bit.
