Alexis Benoît [n 1] Soyer (French pronunciation: [alɛksi swaje] 4 February 1810 – 5 August 1858) was a French chef, philanthropist, writer and inventor who made his reputation in Victorian England.

Raphael Zalman Soyer[1] (December 25, 1899 – November 4, 1987) was a Russian -born American painter, draftsman, and printmaker. Soyer was referred to as an American scene painter.
