I think we’re going to narrow our area to Portsmouth, Salisbury, Stonehenge and Avebury and Dorset as we’re going to change our time to 7 days pre trip south England, Queen Mary Transatlantic, and 3days NYC. We.‘ll have to come back and hit the southeast and Cornwall. I appreciate all the suggestions.
South England - worth visiting beyond some grand houses?
Feb 12, 2015 · We have visited SE England and SW England, but not south-central. (However, I agree that Arundel Castle looks quite worth a visit.) Starting with the SE, more or less in geographical order, here are what we felt were the highlights: Bodiam Castle, Hever Castle, Igtham Mote, Bayham Abbey, Battle Abbey, old fishing shack areas of Hastings.

Apr 29, 2023 · Lots of creativity in every town and village we went to in decorating for the Coronation. The next stop was a short break at the Victorian pier at Eastbourne where the guide treated everyone to an ice cream and we walked the pier and surrounding area. Onto a highlight for me, Burling Gap and walking a section of the South Downs Way.

Jul 10, 2023 · The Cotswolds are most definitely in ‘the south’. In England what is north and what is south is not based purely on geography but on historical social and economic factors. People in the Cotswolds speak with southern English accents and it’s a wealthy area, therefore it’s unassailably South.

December back to Christmas in England with Seymour travels. 2024 5.5 weeks. Rhine River cruise, 5 days on our own in Bruges, then overnite stop in London, then off to No England tour with Seymour travels.
