I was told years ago that Sony moved away from the mother daughter board concept of the 6xxx receivers and 5xxx series separates and went to direct wiring in order to reduce service problems from the plug in interconnects.

Dec 22, 2023 · As much as Sony is my favorite receiver of that era, their switch/knob positions are not obvious to the 1st-time user and you may simply not be getting the input signal all the way thru to the speaker. Good luck with your STR-6065. Very much worthy of a refurbishment if in good cosmetic condition.
