Our Lady of Mount Carmel High School was established in 1990 by Father John McHugh, SOLT to provide an affordable, quality, Catholic education for the young people of Benque Viejo del Carmen, Belize. The school began with only volunteer teachers and a one-room school building.

SOLT was assigned by Bishop Pacis to establish the first parish (Sacred Heart) on the island. This work quickly spread to three other islands: San Miguel, Bataan and Rapu Rapu. Today, there are over 20 apostolic missions in the Luzon Region.

SOLT Sisters, we are called to be missionaries who go to the ends of the earth to bring others into deeper union with the Trinity. Yet, to go far, we must have a place to return and be grounded. This Motherhouse is where our sisters can come home, renew their foundation in Christ, and strengthen our bonds as sisters.

As we approach the 50th anniversary of the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity (SOLT) in the Asia-Pacific Region on July 16, 2025, we are embarking on a significant project that will both commemorate this milestone and impact the lives of the people we serve in our local area.
