Determination of Soil pH and soil EC | PPT - SlideShare
Mar 1, 2021 · Soil and water samples were collected and various tests were conducted to analyze pH, organic carbon, available phosphorus, potassium, and nitrate nitrogen in the soil. Water quality parameters like EC, pH, sodium, calcium, magnesium, carbonate, bicarbonate, RSC and SAR were also analyzed.
Soil pH and EC, P K MANI | PPT - SlideShare
Jan 8, 2014 · This project involves students working independently for 4-5 weeks to determine various measurements under their selected fruit tree, including electroconductivity (EC) and pH of water and soil samples, water flow rate, fruit weight, length and diameter, and leaf area.
Use the same soil water suspension used for measuring pH for the determination of EC. Stir the contents and allow the soil to settle. Wash the electrodes carefully and immerse them into soil solution. The readings on the scale at this position indicate the electrical conductivity.

Soil Electrical Conductivity: Managing Salts for Sustained
Jan 29, 2021 · Measure EC for consistently high crop yields In this webinar, world-renowned soil physicist Dr. Gaylon Campbell teaches the fundamentals of measuring soil electrical conductivity (EC) and how to use a tool that few people think about—but is absolutely essential for maintaining crop yield and profit.
Electrical conductivity (EC) is determined with a conductivity bridge and cell by measuring the electrical resistance of a 1:5 soil: water suspension. Soil-water extracts are most commonly used: ratio 1:1 (EC 1:1), 1:2 (EC 1:2), 1:5 (EC 1:5) and 1:10 (EC 1:10) soil to-wáter-mixtures.

Soil electrical conductivity affects yields, crop suitability, plant nutrient availability and soil microorganism activity such as emission of greenhouse gases and respiration. Excess salts hinder plant growth by affecting the soil-water balance. Arid and semi-arid climates naturally have a higher salt content.
