Apr 2, 2015 · Smith will definitely fruit in a semi shaded area but the figs might not develop that awesome taste without direct sunlight hitting them. At any rate, they always will taste very good. If you look at the Smith figs on my fig Blog (Dans Cajun Figs) you can see what the awesome tasting ones will look like.
