Feb 2, 2025 · Welcome to the Smith-Wesson Forum and in particular the Semi-Automatic Pistols thread. My original 59, S/N A349289 was purchased brand new in June of 1977. Unfortunately, something “newer or better” came along and it was sold off. About a year ago I was able to find a replacement, ANIB, for that original pistol. Very cool, historic guns.

Jan 19, 2025 · The Smith is a much more refined gun in both fit and finish. The Colt has a tractor pull double action. I found the Colt covered with a thick layer of spooge on the bottom shelf of a pawnshop in Lynchburg, Virginia early in my collecting career.
