Slushy/Sandy/Muddy Trails: FWD or RWD? - Team-BHP
Apr 12, 2011 · Like Shankar.balan has said, even RWD vehicles could get stuck in slush, but I still would prefer RWD over FWD as if one is moving forward, one can see the wheels getting stuck or losing traction and back out, which will not be the case if vehicle is FWD, I remember getting stuck on a beach with a FWD automatic sedan, the weight of the engine and inability to steer was a major factor which had ...

Aug 15, 2011 · 2) Generally, once heavy vehicles have passed thru' the slush, they leave behind the tyre marks. It is advisable to drive over them. However, if you're vehicle has a low GC, the mud that piles up in the centre (of the 2 tyres) might just scrape the belly. 3) Rev the engine hard

Would you recommend BFG AT for someone who goes 90-95% highway and 5-10% on trails and estate roads and some level of casual off road, slush, mud, grasslands and all? Asking for myself. Not yet ready to change the tyres but would really like to understand this.

Apr 13, 2015 · Recently , I had a bad experience of getting stuck in mud with my car ( maruti swift vxi ). My car is a Honda City ZX Gxi, fwd, shod with Michelin XM Energy 2, of size 175/65 R14. Need traction over a mud track of about 300 meters, to reach my home. In the dry season its about 2 inches of powdery mud, and post rains becomes slippery …
Mild offroading with the Tata Hexa & other 4WD / AWD cars
But AWD cars cannot dune bash or drive all that well through thick slush or climb seriously steep trails as well as 4x4 cars can. AWD cars' clutch-plates can overheat since (I think) the ECU slips the AWD cars' clutch in order to achieve better torque (I can't find a better way to describe this - pardon me ye 4x4 Gods) and this can (and has ...
Next-gen Mahindra Scorpio | Now revealed as Scorpio-N
Jun 29, 2022 · By regular I mean driving on wet highways, on rural/broken roads, and even mild slush/mud. Moreover, you won't be able to engage 4wd on a part-time 4wd vehicle like the Scorpio-N on wet tarmac anyways (to your example of driving in the rains) - for that you'd need an AWD like the XUV 5OO/7OO or a full-time 4wd like the Endeavour/first ...

The Scorpio to me appears in the wrong path, the mud is deep at that point, the footsteps are pretty close to the mud, AWD might have helped there & for sure a low-range would have gotten it out. One more observation & not a generalization. This picture appears from Nepal, where most drivers have sufficient experience of driving in slush / mud.

Apr 6, 2013 · They are to prevent the slush, mud, tar, etc. on the road which gets splashed to the car body by the tyres. Without them, your car will get dirty (around the doors) more easily and quickly. I advice you to add mud flaps, as there are some tar marks (maybe black paint) on my Alto (don't have mud flaps) which are damn hard to remove.
