Can't run Skyrim SE through Vortex/SKSE Loader
Aug 17, 2021 · I can open the game just fine through the regular Steam launcher but that results in SKSE not running properly. Can anyone offer advice? Thanks in advance. EDIT: I'm using Vortex 1.4.15 and SKSE 2.0.19. I've tried running SKSE as an administrator as the documentation suggests and this doesn't help. Edited August 17, 2021 by empyreanobscure

Nov 2, 2020 · I copied the skse64_xx files to my Skyrim Special Edition, created and .7z of the Data folders and dropped it in Vortex. Deinstallation: Deleting skse64_xx and Removing Data.7z 3. Full Drag and Drop. Somewhere I found somebody saying for Vortex the downloaded file needs to be dropped there as whole. Been there, done that.

Sep 9, 2018 · They invariably turn out to be a bad installation of SKSE or the result of using the in-game mad facility (which disables it). SKyUI 5.2 works fine for me with SKSE 2.0.8. Don't be put off by the 'alpha' - it was posted as alpha because at the time SKSE64 as in alpha.
A few question about SKSE for SE and what to use without it.
Dec 25, 2017 · For a difference of opinion: SKSE64 is still in Alpha, but it works perfectly fine. The are a lot of mods that have been made to work without SKSE64 , you'll just have to read the Mod description to find out what is required, also quite a few mods are being made and ported to work with SKSE64 already (SkyUI).

Sep 21, 2018 · 4. Launch the game via running skse_loader.exe. Steam must be running before launching Skyrim. If you use a desktop shortcut to launch Skyrim normally, just update the shortcut to point to skse_loader.exe instead of TESV.exe or SkyrimLauncher.exe.

Mods not taking effect on new Skyrim SE game
Dec 8, 2023 · I'm using Vortex 1.9.10 and Skyrim SE 1.6.1130 (Steam). I'm launching through SKSE 2.2.5. I have updated all of my mods that needed updates, and deployed them through Vortex; they show up correctly in my Data folder and are enabled in the Plugins window. When I launch SSE through SKSE, the game does not recognize any mods as active.

Jul 27, 2023 · Tried the latest skse and AE versions of script extender as well and the same thing. Steam says running for 45 seconds, then flashes 100%, and the game never starts. I can play Skyrim, as opposed to SKSE on the laptop fine, but special edition with or without script extender, won't complete load. Thanks in advance for any help.
