The SIG MP 41 (although it was predated by the MK33 and MK37 from the 1930s) was a Straight Forward blow back. The weapon was made of forged steel which made it heavy to carry and handle but the firearm worked well.

The SIG MP-41 uses simple blowback action and fires from the open bolt. Single shot and fully automatic modes are both available. A manual safety is located on the right side of the receiver. Like its predecessors, the MP-41 Neuhausen features a folding magazine housing.

We have two editions of the Swiss Army submachine gun manual, one from 1944 and one from 1955. These cover both the MP43/44 (Suomi copy) and the MP41/44. The Swiss MP41/44 submachine gun was basically an LMG25 action scaled down to use 9x19 Luger ammunition.
