Siân Catherine James (born 24 June 1959) is a Welsh Labour Party politician, who was Member of Parliament (MP) for Swansea East from 2005 to 2015.

A native of the Mid Wales village of Llanerfyl in Powys, [1] Siân James participated, from an early age, in local eisteddfodau, playing the piano, the violin and later the harp. [1]

Siân James (20 September 1930 – 21 July 2021) [1] was a Welsh novelist, academic and translator, who wrote in English. Her third novel, A Small Country, is seen as a classic of Anglo-Welsh literature.
