With the project’s end date slated for late 2019, one key to the continued success of Myanmar's burgeoning specialty coffee market will be groups like Shwe Taung Thu. The group started as an internship for five leaders among the 18 coffee-producing communities.

Shwe Taung Thu — Pink Headed Duck Coffee
Scattered across the Ywangan Region of Shan State, Myanmar, Shwe Taung Thu became the country’s first registered community-based specialty coffee producers association in May 2018. Today, their co-op is the country’s largest producer of dry naturals with 70% of their producer members being women and serving around 400 members total.
