Jun 6, 2024 · The target you are trying to shove can choose whether they want to counter with their own Strength (Athletics) in a contest of raw power, or they can try to evade by using Dexterity (Acrobatics) to keep their balance, slip away from the shove, etc. A minotaur will naturally resist an attempt to shove them differently than a monk will.

The Basic Rules outline the prone condition: A prone creature's only movement option is to crawl, unless it stands up and thereby ends the condition. The creature has disadvantage on attack rolls. An attack roll against the creature has advantage if the attacker is within 5 feet of the creature.

Please clarify when you are talking about charger's primary ability of shoving as a bonus action, and the modified shove granted when moving 10 feet in a line before shoving. Are you saying the more powerful straight line shove, RAW, loses the ability to knock a creature down? Or are you saying even the basic bonus action shove granted by the charger feat is incapable of knocking a creature prone?
