Chiaki Tani (谷 千明, Tani Chiaki) is Shinken Green (シンケングリーン, Shinken Gurīn) of the Shinkengers. He serves in the next generation after his widowed father. Chiaki initially has no interest in being Takeru’s vassal and devote himself to him, unlike Ryunosuke and Kotoha.

Samurai Sentai Shinkenger (侍戦隊シンケンジャー Samurai Sentai Shinkenjā), is the 33rd Super Sentai series,which began airing on February 15, 2009. Using a feudal Japan motif, Shinkenger is a portmanteau of Shinken 真剣 (true sword) and Ran ger. It joined Kamen Rider Decade on February 15, 2009, replacing Engine Sentai Go-Onger.

During one-on-one combat with Narisumashi, Shinken Green successfully disarms the Ayakashi, then joins Shinken Red in landing the deathblow with the Kabuto Five Rings Bullet. Tenku-Shinkenoh then destroys the resurrected Narisumashi.

Chiaki Tani is Shinken Green of the Shinkengers. Chiaki is a rebel to Takeru, and not a very good fighter to start, but a quick thinker who relies on unorthodox methods. His growth over the series made early calls marking him The Lancer to be retracted.

In Episode 21, he spearheaded an attack to save a hostage situation and found out his dad was actually a good fighter as well. He can borrow the Inromaru to become Super Shinken Green, which he does for the first time in Ep. 27.

As Shinken Green (シンケングリーン Shinken Gurīn?), he is the Samurai of Wood (木の侍 Ki no Samurai?) and can borrow the Inromaru to become Super Shinken Green (スーパーシンケングリーン Sūpā Shinken Gurīn?) or the Kyoryu Disk to become Hyper Shinken Green (ハイパーシンケングリーン Haipā Shinken Gurīn?).
