Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy (pronunciation ⓘ) is an Indian musical trio consisting of Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa. [1] They have composed music for over 50 soundtracks across five languages: Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi and English.

Loy then did the music of Pranoy Roy's show "The World This Week", and some theatre, Shahrukh's first serial "Fauji". When Loy moved to Mumbai, he hooked up with Ehsaan and they started working together on jingles. Shankar used to sing for their jingles (Indian parts).

Jul 29, 2021 · In the late 1980s, Ehsaan was doing jingles in Mumbai and Loy was writing for television; he did the music for Prannoy Roy’s The World This Week. When he moved to Mumbai in 1989, he got together with Ehsaan and they worked on jingles, for which Shankar used to sing.

Loy Mendonsa shares an anecdote he heard: “They had to stop the film in the theatre because people would be throwing money at the screen.”
