The Series 2 Escort RS Turbo was produced between '86 to '90, and although it utilised the Series 1 1600cc fuel-injected CVH engine, it was now fitted with a Garrett T3 Turbo, lower gearing, improved gearbox, limited-slip differential, larger clutch, intercooler, stiffer suspension, uprated anti-roll bars, larger brakes, and the list continues.

The Series 2 RS Turbo appeared in July 1986, six months after the production of the Series 1 had ended. Ford decided that the S1 was a little too hectic and busy for normal road use, so the S2 was toned down and looked a little closer to the lesser XR3i.

The Series 2 car produced an impressive 132bhp at 5750 rpm, with maximum torque of 133 lb/ft produced at 2750 rpm, giving it ample performance with a top speed of 125 mph and a 0-60mph time of 8.3 seconds.The car presented here is a 1989 Ford Escort RS Turbo (Series 2).
