I must be addicted to these things. the PPSh41 was deisgned in 1941 by Shpagin ( hope I spelled that right) and the PPS43 was the shorter nd lower rate of fire sucessor in 1943. The PPS has a folding stock while the PPSh has wood. The PPSh is 33" OAL with a 10" barrel.

Jan 5, 2016 · While the PPSh-41 is not completely done, needs the front sight shroud tacked on and minor tuning, I feel the need for another project. This one will take even longer. What is the Suomi M31? Simple, it is what won the Winter War for the Fins and inspired the PPSh-41. It is chambered in 9mm. Even the mags for the two are almost the same!

Dec 20, 2008 · The semi-auto is not easy to build unless you have very good machining and welding skills. The open-bolt submachine guns do not lend themselves to closed semi-auto conversion without extensively redesigning the firing mechanism. It can become a time and money pit for sure. If it was easy, someone would have brought a reliable one to market by now.

Oct 29, 2009 · Here are a few other semi-PPSh pointers. First and foremost, always wear eye protection. My semi-auto PPSh blows junk back in my face pretty bad. That top ejection makes it all come right back at you too. The drums are neat, but they are also heavy, complicated, and often less than 100% reliable. However, the stick mags are absolutely fantastic.

I knew of three: the discontinued Inter Ordnance SR-41, a version built by WiseLiteArms, and a version built by Allied Armament. Most of the reviews I found were on the Inter Ordance’s SR-41.
