Self Self rats are a solid color and do not have any white on them. The best ones have no white on the toe tips as the example here shows. Self rats do not carry other patterns. Related to the Irish but without any markings at all.

Mar 26, 2014 · It is possible for a rat to be genetically marked but have so little white on it that it appears to be Self. Often, these rats will have a very few white hairs on their chest, and white feet. This is of course very difficult to see, particularly if the rat is a lighter color.

Mar 3, 2014 · If you don’t care about the color and just want Self rats, then any Self, Agouti or not, would be okay. Chances are fairly good that a breeding to an Agouti would produce some Blacks. If you have no other Self rats, you can use this guy to produce them.
