Oct 27, 2015 · The Village of Schoolcraft seeks to enhance the community through development that contributes to its welcoming hometown atmosphere, complements it landscape and local business environment, and reinforces its rich history and quality schools.

HOW THE VILLAGE BECAME KNOWN AS SCHOOLCRAFT… The Village of Schoolcraft was the first settlement established in Kalamazoo County. In fact, the original Village was platted in 1831, six years before Michigan became a state.

Celebrate the Christmas Spirit in Historic Schoolcraft. Our community welcomes you to this annual event held on the first Friday and Saturday of December, when the Village merchants roll out the red carpet to the general public.

The Village of Schoolcraft's Department of Public Works is responsible for the maintenance of the Village properties and equipment, public streets, parks, and the water system.

The Schoolcraft Police Department is a full-service police agency. Officers investigate violations of Village ordinances, traffic accidents and violations, and misdemeanor and felony complaints that occur in the Village.
