Dog Nose vs. front engine vs. rear engine? | Skoolie Forum
Dec 13, 2011 · Front engine flat face provides maximum interior space related to length of bus, but they are loud and put off heat into the cabin. Dog nose is also loud, though not as bad, and extends length of bus relative to interior space and also looks the most like a "school bus" after conversion. The flat face buses look more RV-like.
Cost of replacing School bus Engine & Transmission
May 31, 2022 · It's cheapest to buy a bus with an engine that will work for you. Even a bus that's not a deal (10k) is cheaper than a free bus plus paying someone to swap an engine. I was trying to get a local bus for parts for my build because it needed a new engine and Cummins quoted the owner 30k to do the swap.

Oct 30, 2019 · The 7.3 is a desirable engine coupled to an adequate trans (4R100) while the 6.0L is a disaster of an engine coupled to a very good trans (5R100). The newer Ford diesels (6.4L & 6.7L) are too big to fit the van chassis and were replaced with the V10 gasser.
Engine bay layout questions - School Bus Conversion Resources
May 7, 2020 · Same bus, same year, same engine. What's the purpose of that? My air filter is a PITA to remove because of where it's located.
