Jul 19, 2021 · Scav Guards (i.e. Boss minions) are not the same as Raiders. They're 2 separate factions. When Scav karma was first released after some tweaking by BSG raiders were found to be giving negative rep when killed as a player scav which they fixed. Scav guards however will give you negative rep even if they attacked you first.

The timer for scavs and scav bosses in "alert" mode are 4 minutes for normal scavs and from what i counted 5-6 minutes for a boss/boss units. So you don't want to peek them while they are in this phase from the SAME LOCATION.
