Dec 19, 2004 · There was a News story about when Saturns first came out and the initial batch was sitting in the yard in Tennessee to be shipped to dealers, the door and/or body panels swelled and they couldn't get the doors opened.

The plastic panels are extremely dent resistant, they are also easier to replace. I just purchased a Saturn Ion, and one of the quarter panels was hit in an accident beforehand, come to find out you can just take that piece off (it unscrews) and then replace it.

Jun 7, 2007 · Is there a recommended epoxy for repairing the plastic body panels on Saturns? I picked up a CHEAP Saturn yesterday as a parts/ beer getter, and there are a couple of spots where a corner has broken off a panel, and was wondering if there was a good way to bond them together so I can then sand, and re-finish.

Even though Saturn’s array of cars generally offers high performance and dependability, a few problems have emerged. In line with this, transmission troubles, gas cap issues, power steering problems, and powertrain control module faults are more common among Saturn owners.

It has come to my attention that saturn cars are very disliked. while I lived in the US I drove a saturn ion2, and can't really say anything bad about the car.

Jul 23, 2001 · I don't care much for Saturns, but what's the disadvantage to the plastic dent-resistant body panels? There must be something wrong with them, or else all the automakers would be using them.

Feb 24, 2011 · All of the panels are relatively easy to remove and replace. For more info, go to Saturnfans.com which is tremendously helpful, I own a 97 SL (bought new). Also save some money and use a rattle can (spray can) to paint it.
