Ajin was about government corruption, oppression, minority vs majority political abuse, and other moral conflicts, all of which have direct relevance to the ending.

I wish we could get both an Ajin Season 3 that continues the anime original storyline and an Ajin Brotherhood that adapts the manga faithfully. Also, one thing that the latter could do to improve the series even beyond the manga is to have that one hamfisted, very important late game flashback happen in real time instead of being a flashback.
