The Special Air Service Regiment, officially abbreviated SASR though commonly known as the SAS, is a special forces unit of the Australian Army. Formed in 1957 as a company, it was modelled on the British SAS with which it shares the motto, "Who Dares Wins".

Some wore the Raiding Support Regiment badge, but others wore the SAS Badge. The French wore the SAS wings and also the Free French Wings shown. The LRDG also wore SAS wings if parachute qualified. The badge of the Greek Sacred Squadron (Ieros Lochos)

Qualified SASR members wear a sand-coloured beret with metal gold and silver winged dagger badge on a black shield. This differs from the British 22 SAS, who have a woven cap badge of the same design.
