The Sao Joao Festival is held at the beginning of the monsoon season on 24 th June. Our village of Siolim is the epicentre of the Sao Joao Festival. We witness people of all ages coming from far and near to watch the boat parade and the cultural program.

The San joao festival in Siolim is believed to be more than a century old. Boats from the neighboring villages of Badem, Assagoa, Anjuna, Chapora, Vagator, etc coming in canoes and putting the garland at the Cross located in front of St, Anthony’s Church.

San Juanv or São João is an annual Catholic religious festival celebrated on 24th June in Goa, India. According to tradition, after attending Mass, young Goan Catholic men leap into and swim in local wells, streams, and ponds as a tribute to Saint John the Baptist.
