May 28, 2023 · Sako made the 22 PPC & the 6 mm PPC in the single shot target version, like yours, on the AI action starting in 1987. They made the 6mm PPC until 1990 & the 22PPC until 1988. The target version with the heavy barrel & the externally adjustable trigger had a separate serial numbering sequence from the regular production rifles.

Feb 22, 2013 · I'm curious about the number of SAKO PPC (.22&6mm) Benchrest Model rifles that are actually used. The reason I'm curious is because I have a.22 PPC heavy barrel bench rifle that is unfired and still in the box it came in, and it occurs to me that there are SAKO collectors who may have done likewise.

Aug 30, 2009 · I shoot 69grainers in the 22 PPC with no problem as the PPC is 6mm shorter than the .223. I have also converted a Remingon Model Seven .223 to PPC which has a much longer magazine and getting ready to rebarrel a CZ 527 7.62x39 to 220 Beggs (220 Russian) with a 1/9 twist barrel - this is a very easy conversion. 87beemer

Jun 10, 2010 · This data base indicates the start date for the Single Shot Sako 22 PPC rifles as August 10, 1987 to April 15, 1988 - one year, as you stated, with 553 units built. The 6mm PPC versions, according to this same data base, were built from August 3, 1987 to February 15, 1990 with 2180 units built in that time - three years.

Feb 8, 2009 · It comes complete with the original box, the owners manual, and even the cloth "Sako 75" patch. It is about as close to "new" as you can get. It is the laminated stock model with a detachable stainless magazine and appx. 23.6" barrel.

I instantly became a Sako addict, and after shooting a deer with it this fall I watched my chance and bought another Sako, this time in 22PPC caliber. The 22PPC is my all-time favorite caliber, and I have used a Ruger 77/VT in that chambering since '96.
