Aug 25, 2021 · Very nice rifle. Looks similar to the P75 Sako made in 22 Hornet. Trigger looks different, as I think the Hornet version had a 2 stage trigger, with lots of take up. Nice shooting too!

Mar 3, 2020 · Is anyone familiar with the older Sako rimfires? Specifically the P72 Finnscout and the M78 Finnscout. I’ve found myself in a position to pick up one or the other. I’ve no real extra special knowledge of either of them, and can’t really find a whole lot online.

Feb 19, 2011 · We refer to pre-72 and post-72 rifles because a major change to the Sako lineage was made in 1972. This was the "Sako Model 72". It would be safe to say that most "collectors" are interested in pre- Sako Model 1972 rifles.

Apr 11, 2011 · A good friend who passed away recently had a Sako Model 72 he would bring out to the local smallbore silhouette matches. I have a Model 78 and as far as I can tell, at least externally, there were no differences between both rifles.

Sako P-72 22. lr. bolt action carbine. One very small ding on passenger side which is visable in photos enlarged. The scope is an economy model of Tasco, but works very efficiently.

Jan 18, 2007 · The P-72 ("P" standing for the Finnish term for "rimfire") is an entirely different model that was built for rimfires and for the Hornet. I understand your problem. It is the simple matter of the replacement of the magazine retaining spring.
