The Sakai clan (Japanese: 酒井氏, Hepburn: Sakai-shi) was a Japanese samurai clan that claimed descent from the Nitta branch of the Minamoto clan, who were in turn descendants of Emperor Seiwa.

Clan Sakai's emblem is a Twin Mountain at the center of a ring, and their symbolic backdrop color is black. The clan is less prominent in the legends and records of Tsushima.

Aug 20, 2020 · Looking at it, I really do believe this is one that the Sakai armor was based off on. The armor pieces are in the same positions, there are scales on them, and there's even a circle insignia on the body piece where the Sakai clan emblem would be in the game.
