Feb 9, 2024 · WWII in Europe ended on 8 May, with the StG-45(M) never seeing mass production or combat. When the Allies secured Oberndorf they found some pre-prototypes, along with separate test guns using the Barnitzke delay system but no full blueprints and far less than they had been expecting.

Jul 20, 2018 · The train left Mauser on the night of April 21/22 1945, with the incomplete sets of StG45(M) parts aboard. US and British military intelligence men found the train in June, and took the parts into custody.
