The pistons are the same, though, right? 370cc injectors too, but the fuel rail is the same. Everything else is the same, right?

Aug 13, 2002 · I think that an SR20DE would be better to turbo, because of it's naturally higher compression ratio. Running 98 Octane gas, and a good fuel and ignition management system means that you don't need to lower compression anymore.

Dec 12, 2004 · I'm comparing it to the US spec SR20DE. RWD SR20DE engine has the same internals as the SR20DET RWD. Except for the Cams and pistons. Other than that, everything is the same.

Oct 23, 2005 · Using the higher comp De block will limit how high your boost can be. The 8.5/1 will allow you to have more boost/less detonation/more timing on pump gas. If you have a good tune, you can run just as much boost on the 9.5:1 as you can on the 8.5:1.

SR20DEs have an unpainted aluminum valve cover, they're not "blacktops" or "redtops". Though the S14 Silvia Q's and S15 Spec-S SR20DE do have the VCT on the intake cam like the blacktop SR20DET and they're rated at 160PS vs. 140PS for the S13 SR20DE.

Mar 28, 2005 · Down the road, if you decide that you really need more power, the SR20DET would be a great choice. Your motor mounts, transmission mount, alternator mount, and drive shaft are done, and none of that would need to be changed.

Apr 24, 2003 · The maind defferences are the compression ratios between the Bluebird DET and the regular SR20. Now, when it comes to the GTi-R SR20det you have even lower compression at 8.3:1, quad throttle bodies, larger oil pump, oil squirters all built onto the block. I am sure other people will chime in.
