Nyx is an enemy in Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne. She belongs to the Night Race and can be recruited or summoned once the Demi-fiend has reached Level 70 or above. She has strong affinities towards all magic. Another Nyx can also be seen in Ginza, where she owns a lounge.

Nyx Avatar is the final form of Death, who previously has taken the form of Thanatos, Pharos and Ryoji Mochizuki. In this state it has become an extension of Nyx; the Avatar's purpose is to summon Nyx itself, whose mere presence will extinguish all life on Earth.

Nyx in P3 is an entity that existed before mankind, not an archetype created by mankind like the demons/shadows/personas. She is Nyx the same way the planet Jupiter is Zeus; just a name we gave to an entity because it's fitting. A bit of debate going on elsewhere regarding this.
