SMEC has been entrusted with several critical projects under SAT, including upgrades at Doonside and Towradgi stations and more recently, the Moss Vale Station upgrade.

SMEC oversees key processes during the design, construction, commissioning, handover, and operational readiness phases. Additionally, SMEC ensures the seamless operation of interfaces between sub-projects and facilitates the timely and accurate exchange of critical information among stakeholders.

SMEC’s role on the project is to ensure the North Pine Dam structure meets the latest safety standards, including those set by the Queensland Government and the Australian National Committee on Large Dams (ANCOLD) guidelines.

SMEC has been appointed by the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation to undertake the detailed design of elevated metro viaduct and stations for Phases 2A and 2B of the Bangalore Metro in the state of Karnataka, India.

George is currently a Director of SMEC Australia and Director – Strategy, Growth and M&A for the Surbana Jurong Group. George previously led SMEC’s urban development business in ANZ.
