Oct 24, 2007 · The 2 most accurate brands of Russian ammo in my YUGO are the Brown Bear SP & Golden Tiger FMJ they average about 2" groups, one's in the middle are my reloads they average 1" to 1/2' groups. Depends on what yo want to do with your rifle that will decide what ammo you want to use

Jul 21, 2011 · I should add that I have a Saiga .308 carbine, a pair of H&K 91 prebans, an original MARS CETME, a Smith Enterprises M14, as well as a Chinese NDM 86 in .308. Of all of these rifles, for a SHTF scenario, I would want the Saiga or the H&K91/CETME. These are the most rugged firearms I own, besides an AK 47 and the SKS.

I put mine in a ram-line stock with a bi-pod back in the day, and fed it Norinco ammo. it seemed the hotter batches shot quite a bit better than anything else. if it flipped the cases about 30' in the air it was a happy rifle.

Feb 3, 2005 · The SKS, while worlds better, isn't as good for sustained rapid fire as the AK reliability-wise. So there's the case for a new rifle. My impression is that Win 100 mags are scarce and expensive. I'd recommend against moding one of those mags to hi-cap. I'd suggest instead considering hi-cap mags for another 308 rifle, ie the FAL, G3, or M14.
