Southeastern Drilling Company (Sedco) was een boormaatschappij die in 1947 werd opgericht door Bill Clements, de latere gouverneur van Texas, met twee partners, Toddie Lee Wynne en Ike LaRue. In 1938 was Clements begonnen bij Oilwell Supply Company en wist zo in 1947 van hen twee gebruikte boortorens te koop.
