Led by the Student Board of Directors, the Student Academy embraces AAPA’s mission with a focus on student-oriented engagement, professional development, and advocacy. AAPA student members annually elect PA student leaders who represent all PA students in the U.S. Meet the Current Board Student Board Committees.

At FSU’s SAAAPA chapter, we are dedicated to creating learning opportunities for all, offering valuable resources to support career development, and hosting engaging events that enrich the experience of our PA class.

One of the goals of the Student Academy of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (SAAAPA) is to aid in the development of students, enabling them to become excellent practitioners upon graduation.

Students have always played an active role in the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). They were among the first to organize and share information with their peers. The original Board of Directors of the APAP included 16 graduate and 4 student PAs.

SAAAPA Origins and Structure. The involvement of physician assistant students in the American Academy of Physician Assistants has been valued and encouraged since the Academy was founded in 1968 by several students at Duke University.

SAAAPA encourages student societies to get involved with their local community throughout the year. Involvement not only gives back to the local community, but it also helps promote the PA profession to individuals who might not be as familiar with it.

SAAAPA is the Student Academy of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and a nationally recognized forum for PA students. Student membership to the AAPA is a requirement of the program. The membership fee is $75.
