Nov 29, 2007 · I have a 96 S10 4x4 with a manual shift transfer case. A while ago the linkage came off my transfer case and I was forced to drive it home in 4lo for about 20 mins. Now the front axle light constantly stays on until I'm above around 55mph. When it turns off I hear a grinding noise in the front end that's coming from the wheels.
