Jul 28, 2020 · Runed Halo doesn't seem to be working presently. I've done some experiments with it and it is only protecting against direct damage a creature does. For instance, protecting against Vito, if Vita punches my face he does nothing but his card effect still hurts.

Jan 19, 2014 · I don't know the logistics of many legacy decks, and what cards fall under Runed Halo (what can be named). An unanswered Delver that flipped turn 2 has killed me several times, probably as much as TNN. I haven't tested, but I feel RH gives me a little more of a chance against a few decks in game 1 before boarding...

Sep 22, 2017 · The thing you quoted says what things Runed Halo gives you protection from, it doesn't say what things you can name. If you read the card, you'll see that it specifically says "name a card". Tokens aren't cards, so you can't name them. It can give you protection from tokens that have the same name as a card you've named though. Pack Rat tokens ...

Runed Halo allow you to potentially lock that card out of the game almost instantly if you are lucky enough to start with it in your hand and that is major feels bad for the other player. It does bring up an interesting wrinkle tho because on Gatherer it's still listed as legal in brawl.

Jun 5, 2020 · Runed Halo doesn't really have a chance, there are very few decks where you can afford to play this against and they only have one way to kill you. It is also very white for a format where white is weak.
