Long Pond is not a proper brand as the distillery doesn’t bottle its own rum (they distill rum for some NRJ products though). Most of the rum produced at the distillery is sold in bulk to private companies and brokers, who in turn might re-sell it again.

The “LPS” was produced in Jamaica at the Long Pond distillery. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler Rum Albrecht. It was distilled in 1993 from Molasses with a Pot Still and then aged for 17 years. The rum has an ABV of 53% and the mark is LPS.

Since working with aromatics and rums leads directly towards high ester rums, perhaps it’s no surprise that as of 2004 they began releasing limited editions of the “LPS” series of rums from Long Pond, and have thus far produced several: an 11 YO, a 13 YO, a 17 YO and an 18 YO , all from the distillation year of 1993.

Feb 20, 2024 · Wu Dram Clan Long Pond “LPS” 2001 22YO (56,3%): Nose: LPS it is, but my first impression is that this is much closer to Hampden than it is to Long Pond. We get pineapple, smoky agave, juicy orange, a very fruity sort of vinegar and subtle oak.

It is odd in the sense that we really haven’t got many Long Ponds from 1993 (the LPS rums are actually the only ones I am aware of) and that it is hard to come by a Long Pond with this flavour profile.
