The tumbling problem you mention is, I believe, by design to slow the forward momentum of the bullet so as to minimize collateral damage caused by bullet pass thru.

Apr 6, 2019 · In my Gen1 LCP I was using the Ruger ARX ammo. I did perceive a reduced bit of recoil. The accuracy was far less than the Federal Hydrashok ammo that I had been using for my EDC but at short distances it was acceptable. After using the ARX for a couple years my local supply dried up and I went back to the Hydrashock's.

Feb 3, 2017 · I have tried the Polycase/Ruger ARX in 45 and 38, as well as the Polycase/Inceptor in 357, using my SR1911CMD as well as the SP-101 and LCR in 357. Each has proved to be accurate, and the ballistics gel videos give an idea of effectiveness. Each has shown lower recoil.

Aug 25, 2016 · Update: I sent Ruger an email question about ARX+P in an LC9 and they called me back. The person I talked to wasn't very knowledgeable but she said she had forwarded my question to her 'supervisor'. The 'supervisor' said that I should follow the same recommendations for ARX+P as for other +P ammo, which is to avoid regular use in the LC9.

Jan 6, 2019 · This phenomenon is such a mystery to me. When I fire the Inceptor ARX .38 Special out of my J-frame (S&W 342PD) the projectile will hit the paper like buckshot at any given range, even from 5 yards. It does not happen every shot, but about 1/3 of the time. I fired this ammo through my 4" 686 and it fired fine, only in my J-frame does it happen.

Jun 22, 2024 · Too bad Ruger discontinued their ARX line of ammo using the same concept. The Underwood ammo has been a little scarce but it looks like availability is a little better but the price isn't. I don't have a problem with the price of carry ammo other than putting enough through your carry gun to make sure it functions reliably.
